About Gamber Cove

Gamber Cove was formed from an existing campground that went out of business in 1982. After a lot of legal hassle we purchased the ground with the lakes from F & M Bank July 1984 and went into business. About one year later, after much indecision for a name, one of our members came up with the one we have now. After many trials and errors, and years of improvements, we have what you see today- One of the finest recreational areas in the midwest!

Our Goal is to keep available to our members, excellent fishing lakes, safe and sanitary facilities, campsites, and recreational acreage that is not overcrowded and abused. Gamber Cove belongs to all the members in good standing, and with your help we can remain one of the finest recreational areas in Illinois!

Gamber Cove Campground Information

Gamber Cove is a Private Recreational Campground for Members Only.



Annual Memberships include Husband, Wife, Dependant Children under 21 and Grandchildren under the age of 16.
Memberships start at $600 and include full use of our 315 acres of land. We have over 10 fishing lakes, 5 miles of hiking and golf cart trails, campfires, berry picking, mushroom hunting, swimming pool, shooting range, live music on hoilday weekends, hog roasts, poker runs, fishing tournaments, and many other events and activities!

Members can tent camp for $35 per night or they can purchase a permanent campsite which start at $600 per year.

Members also have full access to the clubhouse, shower house, swimming pool, and swimming lake.

Members are allowed to bring guests, but they need to register and purchase a guest pass. Guest passes are available for $4 per day. Handicapped guests and children under the age of 13 are free.

Gamber Cove Fishing Information

Gamber Cove is a Private Recreational Fishing Club and Campground for Members Only.

We have over 10 scenice lakes nestled throughout our 315 acre property. Big Lake has 3 miles of shoreline and is 28 acres. Raccoon Lake is the second largest lake at 16 acres, and the rest of our lakes are between 6-10 acres each. We have good access to most of the lakes and concrete boat ramps on 6 of the lakes!

Our fishing lakes are professionally managed by Herman Brothers Pond Management and are stocked with Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Bluegill, Redear, Crappie, Yellow Perch, Walleye, and Tiger Muskie.

Fishing Members can tent camp for $25 per night or they can purchase a permanent campsite which start at an additional $400 per year. Fishing Members also have full access to the clubhouse, shower house, swimming pool, and swimming lake. Members are allowed to bring guests, but they need to register and purchase a guest pass. Guest passes are available for $4 per day. Handicapped guests and children under the age of 13 are free.

Trap Shooting Information

We have a shooting range that can be used by members at anytime.

We also host a trap shoot on the first Saturday of each month @ 9am. These shoots are open to the public, so bring a friend. There are no Guest Fees for this activity. Call the range officer Tim Robbins @ 368-0529 with any questions.



Shooting Range Rules:

-Members just need to call in their starting time @ 879-2490 & press #2 during the greeting. Then state your name and the time you started at the range.

-NO ALCOHOL at the Shooting Range

-NO HARD TARGETS (Steel, Iron, or Concrete)

-Targets for Rifles, Hand Guns, and Cannons may only be placed between the two orange posts. No firing in any other direction.

-Please clean up your empty cartridges and remove targets

Oct 6th

• Weiner roast 5:00 p.m

Trapshoot first saterday of every month regardless of weather.

Swimming Information

We have a 50' oval in ground swimming pool that is 3.5' to 10' deep.

We also have a swimming lake with a dock for easy access.
$3.00 fee per day
Swimming rules

• NO one under 18 can be in the pool area without adult


• soap shower before intering pool


• NO swimming alone


• NO beverages or food in the pool area


• after 7 p.m adults only

ANNUAL BASS TOURNAMENT
Will be held on Sun. May 6th from 7 AM to 2 PM. This will be a catch & release tournament with no size limit. Details on Page 3 with application. SIGN UP ASAP to get the lake you want.
